Audition 3 - March 21: Napier
Road trip - I am heading out with the NZNTM team to Napier. The four hour journey flew by – I was lucky enough to be in the car with Sara, she is so funny and kept us amused the whole time.
Although Napier is smaller than the other cities we have travelled to so far, it is definitely punching above its weight. So many gorgeous girls turned up today in fact just under half who auditioned made the short list.
The girls were pretty quiet yesterday and seemed to be focussing on what they needed to do to impress the judges – there was a bubbling under current of determination in the room.
We had a number of girls who were just under the 170cm height minimum, it was so sad to have to tell them that they wouldn’t be able to audition. I must admit, I did well up a couple of times when this happened.
Last night the NZNTM crew fancied a bit of R&R – so we headed out for a good feed. We were the loudest group in the restaurant as we discussed the girls we had seen so far; we all agreed that there are some seriously strong contenders.
I have to admit it was a pretty restrained night for the NZNTM gang; I got the distinct feeling that they were worried any hi-jinks could make it into this blog! Don’t worry guys, you’re secrets are safe with me. Yeah, right! As soon as I get a whiff of gossip, I’ll be bringing to you!
