Audition 4 - March 22: Tauranga
As we pulled up to the hotel in Tauranga, we knew we were in for a special day - the sun was shining and there were more than a few potential models waiting for us in the lobby.
The crew had told me that they were all looking forward to Tauranga - the last few times they have been here, the strike rate for potential models has been fantastic.
So many girls turned up to audition today, at one point the lobby of the hotel had been completely taken over by Tauranga's finest. In fact, at one point we thought we may have to continue the auditions long into the night due to the sheer volume of girls.
There was a lot of love in the Bay of Plenty – all the girls were really supportive of one another and encouraging each other to do well.
The most exciting thing happened today – I had to ask a girl to come back to the auditions after she had been told she wouldn’t be proceeding to the next round. The judges decided that maybe she did have what they were looking for and so I phoned to race back to the audition.
She was ecstatic when she arrived back at the hotel and I quickly whisked her into see our judges again! She received a resounding “yes” and has now made it to our short list. Phew – that was almost too much excitement for one day!
