Challah Bread (Grey's Ave)


60g Active Yeast (2 pkts)
2 cups warm water
¼ cup oil
1.5 cups honey
4 eggs (+1 yolk with one teaspoon water for brushing)
1.5 tsp salt
4 cups Whole-wheat flour (checked)
5.5 cups white flour (checked and sifted)

Mix all ingredients together then add flour. Mix until the dough is not sticky anymore.

Cover and let rise for 1 hour

Separate challah

Divide into 6 balls and let rise for 30 minutes

Plait & brush with 1 egg mixed with some water

Bake in preheated oven at 180 for 30-35min

As challoh are taken out of oven, give a quick brush with some honey (could be slightly messy)
