Cycle 2, Ep 12
I was so super excited to catch tonight’s episode of New Zealand’s Next Top Model – the first week since Dakota left the house! As expected there was a lovely sense of calm and harmony to the Model house – no more drama. Yeah, right!
Danielle seems to be loving the Dakota Free Zone – it’s no secret that they are not besties.
The last four girls seem to be having lots of fun with practical jokes and pushing people in the pool featuring high in this episode. However, the fun came to a halt when Danielle managed to smash a stone table while chasing Michaela. Whoops!
Onto challenge time – yay, it was time for the Go-See challenge. Courtney was bursting with excitement – she has been looking forward to this challenge from the start. Danielle, Elza and Michaela all seemed a bit nervous.
Colin explained that the girls had to meet designers around the city and try to get booked for a runway show and photo shoot. The girls were being driven around the city by a cute guy in a very snazzy Ford Fiesta – only problem, the girls were playing navigator, uh oh! Courtney has never read a map before and Elza seemed confused form the start.
They had four hours to meet with a selection of fabulous designers including World, nomD, twentysevennames, Sable & Minz and Sportswear. Danielle was a machine, she got to all the designers and was determined to do well. Michaela was on her tail though and as equally focussed. Elza, well Elza managed to get to all the designers but did seem like she was daydreaming through the challenge.
It was Courtney who had the biggest nightmare though – she completely fell apart during the challenge, in fact she was hopeless. Not only did she not see all the designers but she was also turned up late to the rendezvous spot. Colin was not impressed. And, to top her terrible day off – Courtney did not get a single booking. Top Model hell.
On a happier note, Danielle secured the most bookings and as a reward won a Ford Fiesta for 12 months and is now the Fiesta Brand Ambassador. Whoop, whoop!
Poor old Courtney felt very dejected after the Go-See challenge; in fact she said it was her worst day in the competition.
Woo hoo – time for the photo shoot! The girls made their way to an amazing new Glassons store and got ready for a fun-fair themed shoot. Very Harajuku! Elza was first to pose she looked like a gorgeous candy floss Lady Gaga – super cute and she did an amazing job.
Courtney needed to do a great job on the shoot to make up for her terrible day yesterday. But, Lady Luck was not on her side and she found the shoot difficult – she tried too hard to get her poses right but just looked stiff. Eek, another bad day.
Riding high off yesterday’s win, Danielle looked like NZ’s answer to Amy Winehouse – she was covered in tattoos and a fabulous 1950s style bikini – GORGEOUS. However, the photographer found her the most stressful to shoot…
Poor old Michaela got a little overwhelmed by all the pressure and broke down in tears just before the shoot. Unfortunately, when she came to posing Michaela looked really tense and the client was concerned. As she said herself, everyone needed to do well in this shoot to progress to the final next week.
Judgement time – who will make it through to the final? Elza was up first – the judges loved her picture and Sara said Elza was perfectly cast for this shoot. Next up was Danielle, she had a mixed response but overall the judges felt that she got a bit lost in the floral background. Michaela was the third to be critiqued, Francis Hooper, the guest judge, loved her shot and Sara thought she hadn’t had a bad week. Last up was Courtney who was miserable from the start and who burst into tears before the judges discussed the week – poor thing! Gorgeous Michaela had a sympathy cry for Courtney too!
In the end poor old Courtney who had had a shocker of a week was the next model to leave the competition – she took the news like a trooper and Sara said she has a good future as a model ahead. Bye Courtney – we’ll miss you.
