Derek Peterson is a wealthy financier and entrepreneur. He’s known in the corporate world for his ruthless business practices – you wouldn’t want to get on his bad side! He isn’t afraid to bust heads or cut corners to get ahead.
It seems strange that Derek seems to know something about Rose’s death or that he was talking to the media about it. What does that mean? He definitely hasn't lost any sleep over her death.

Why does Simon mention Rose’s death to him again – saying to Peterson that the police have declared it to be an accident. Derek must know something about her death! He certainly doesn’t seem at all concerned about Rose’s death!
Someone sent Peterson a DVD of Cartier's murder and it seems like he has seen this before. How did he know about Cartier's death and was he involved in the cover up? He doesn't seem like the type to actually get his hands dirty but maybe he hired someone to kill Rose...
