For all the car fans out there, I thought I should start with this. As if we need another reason to want to spend some time in Simon Cowell's shoes, he turned up to the set last week - here in Los Angeles - in a 1 Million Dollar Bugatti Veyron super car. Doing some research, the sparkling black beauty which has a top speed of nearly 268 miles per hour, there are only 4 in the world! But to think about, not only does the music mogul have X Factor in 80 countries round the world, he manages One Direction in his spare time and is busily putting their feature movie together sure to make him (another) fortune. In fact, the band are on their way to make $100 million this year and last week, 1D topped the single and album charts in the UK and US with their new track Little Things and album Take Me Home. A happy Simon tweeted: "Massive congrats to the one d boys for having the number one single and album. Could not be happier for you." Harry Styles was quick to thank his former mentor for his support tweeting: "cheers boss x". Of course, Simon is looking forward. He's trying his best to recreate the magic of his biggest creation here in the States.
Bookies are picking either Simon or LA to be the winning judge, which is no surprise, and as the LIVE shows heat up, so too does the controversy. This time its Britney Spears who is not happy, she has been accused of diva behavior towards X Factor judge Demi and co-host Khloe. Weekly rag Life & Style here in the States, claims the 'Toxic hit maker "won't talk to either of them", believing that reality star Khloe especially is below her and solely responsible for stealing the media limelight away from the popstar. I love the quotes but supposedly "she's really getting underneath Britney's skin." If that wasn’t enough, it is further claimed today, that Lovato's closeness to the new Kardashian host is winding up poor Brit even further. Spears came out today a few hours ago and said these rumours were "laughable", and that she has absolutely no problem with either of her female co-stars but just gives the audience one more reason to watch and see if they can pick up on any tension between the girls.
Of course, one more reason to watch should be.... yes the singers! It was a shame to see the end of Jennel Garcia, she was clearly given a bad song from Demi and unfortunately, that bad decision ended in her leaving the show and I also never felt Lyric 145 were given the chance to truly show what they were capable of. In fact, maybe the show and/or the audience just wasn’t quite ready for their kind of talent. Last week we lost two more incredible performers with Beatrice Miller and Arin Ray leaving the competition. My heart goes out to Beatrice – who was so passionate about being in the competition for the betterment of her unique family. You also can’t help but feel for Arin who would have had to say goodbye to his crush Normani Hamilton from Cowell’s new girl group Fifth Harmony. With fame and distance, time will tell if anything comes of that ‘friendship’!
As we head into the last month of the show, it will become a lot more apparent, who has sung their best and who still has some growth left to do. With 5 million on the line, it will be interesting to see who that will be. I still like Tate Stevens, think Carly Rose over-hyped but good, perhaps too young at 13 and that Emblem 3 are also a tad over rated and maybe being pushed a tad too much by their mentor, Mr Cowell.
What do you think? Do you agree with Dom?
