Easy Peasy Pretzel Sweets

Pretzel Sticks

by Alessandra Rachael

The cutest looking baking doesn't always need to be the most complicated or time consuming to make. Emily was able to really impress Dean during the Episode 4 Sweets Challenge with her ability to whip up some delicious Chocolate Bubble Cakes when her fudge didn't go quite according to plan. Here are a few of our favorite, easy peasy ideas using pretzels and Oreos!

It doesn't get any more simple than Chocolate Coated Pretzel Sticks. Dip in white or dark chocolate and then decorate with chocoalte hail or coloured sprinkles. Try pink hearts for girls birthday parties or red and green for Christmas.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites are another great, melt in your mouth idea! Totally delicious, super easy to make and, best of all, there’s no baking required so it’s safe to let your Jr. Home Baker loose on this recipe!

Pretzel Bites

Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites
(Recipe from TwoTinyKitchens)

1 cup smooth peanut butter
2 Tbsp softened butter
1/2 cup Icing sugar (maybe more)
3/4 cup Soft Brown Sugar (maybe more)
1 bag Chocolate Chips

COMBINE the peanut butter and softened butter in a large mixing bowl. Add the icing sugar and soft brown sugar.
ROLL into small balls. If the mixture does not roll easily into balls without sticking to your hands just add more icing sugar and soft brown sugar.
SANDWICH each ball between two whole pretzels. Lay out each Pretzel Bite on a tray and place in the freezer for approximately 30 minutes.
MELT one bag of dark or milk chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Remove the Pretzel Bites from the freezer and dip each one half-way into the melted chocolate. Return the tray to the freezer to set.

Pretzel Balls

We also LOVE these Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Balls! These use all the same ingredients and have the added bonus of allowing you to let out a bit of work frustration by crushing the bag of pretzels with the rolling pin. Who needs a stress ball when you have baking? Check out the recipe from make-happy.blogspot.co.nz. We should warn you though…these are addictive!

Last but not least, Oreo Pops! These gorgeous little treats are quick alternative to the always popular, but somewhat more time consuming, cake pops. Just ‘pop’ each Oreo cookie onto a lollipop stick, dip into white or dark chocolate and add your choice of pretty sprinkles. What an amazing idea for kid’s birthdays! These little gems are the brainchild of the creative folk over at hiphiphoorayblog.com

Try out these amazing treats and tell us how they turn out! Happy Home Baking!
