Sisters Sonja and Soria were born in New Zealand, but grew up in Ipswich. Both have had different paths that have led them to The X Factor stage. Sonja, 24, has a two year-old daughter, Juanita,“I’m missing her so much already but I want her to be proud of me - she loves hearing me sing.” Sonja is also currently going through a divorce, having married at a young age. “Ever since I can remember, I‘ve always wanted to do something with singing but I struggled with image, confidence and self esteem. I’d watch other people do it - but I never thought it could be me.”
Her sister Soria 18, has had the same passion for singing:”I love music and singing but I never thought I’d be able to go anywhere with it.” “Different journeys brought us here together,” she says. “We hope this gives us the opportunity to have a singing career - it’s our dream. We know it’s not an easy industry. We want to inspire other people to follow their dreams.” Sonja and Soria’s musical influences range from Beyonce to Keri Hilson to Mariah Carey.
