Set in the future, the New Zealand-made family adventure stars Danielle Cormack, Tim Balme and Michael Hurst. Maddigan’s Quest follows a troupe of circus performers known as Maddigan’s Fantasia as they seek to obtain a solar converter to ensure the future survival of their post-apocalyptic home Solis.
In this dramatic conclusion, we see whether the troupe manage to complete the treacherous return journey with the new solar converter.
Although you won’t be able to see the show on New Zealand screens anymore, if you’re planning a trip abroad sometime soon you may be able to see the series then.
Maddigan’s Quest has been sold to new broadcasters in territories including North America, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.
In North America HDNet USA has licensed the show. HDNet USA is available on a wide range of well-known delivery systems including Time Warner Cable and Delphi and Charter Communications.
Additional broadcasters include MBC Middle East, IETV Israel, LNK Lithuania and Proxima in Bulgaria. Further deals in Eastern Europe are pending, and the UK’s 2entertain has also picked up DVD and video rights to the title.
Maddigan’s Quest also currently screens on the Nine Network in Australia, and in 2006 received two bronze awards at the New York Festivals Awards for Youth Programmes and Art Direction. In 2007 the show won a Silver Medal in the 'Youth Programs' category of at the 2007 International Television Programming and Promotion Competition of the New York Festivals.
