Mark Gascoigne is a registered architect with 29 years’ experience. He has worked on the design of over 2000 projects, both in New Zealand and overseas.
Mark is passionate about design and the arts in all its forms. He believes that architecture can only be truly effective if it takes into account the needs, aspirations and loves of its occupants and he will be looking for this kind of thought process in this year’s houses on The Block NZ.
Since graduating from Auckland University, Mark has combined his love of architecture and design with his background in theatre, music and theatrical lighting to allow him to create fully integrated environments where interior and exterior spaces are cohesively designed.
In addition to his client work, Mark finds time to guest lecture, write regular columns in some of New Zealand’s leading fashion and food industry magazines and give keynote presentations at conferences.
In his spare time Mark plays lead guitar in a rock band, races off-road motorcycles, skis, reads and loves to spend time with his wife and two teenage children.
