Young, optimistic Spanish teacher Will Schuester jumps at the chance to lead the glee club at McKinley High - after all, when he was a student there, he loved performing and glee kids like him were stars. But when only a handful of social outcasts sign up, he realizes how much things have changed. So he forces football star Finn Hudson to join the group, hoping more kids will follow the popular quarterback's lead.

Determined to make glee great again and to take the "New Directions" club all the way to Nationals, Will soon finds himself facing the wrath of tyrannical cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester. When Sue hears about Will's plans for glee, which could take attention and money away from her Cheerios, she vows to bring down the club.

Meanwhile, Will's demanding wife, Terri, tells him she's pregnant and that his teacher's salary isn't going to cut it with a baby coming.

Amid troubles at home and work, he finds solace in his relationship with guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury. So it's to her arms he runs when his marriage unravels. But Will and Emma soon realize he needs to spend some time alone while she needs to face her own problems before their relationship can move forward.
