The cast of Modern Family took home the award for Outstanding Ensemble In A Comedy Series at the 19th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night.
The popular sitcom beat out 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, Glee, Nurse Jackie and The Office, making this their third consecutive win in this category.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson spoke on behalf of his co-stars, expressing their gratitude for the award and also paying tribute to the cast of 30 Rock and The Office, which are both coming to an end.
"This is a huge honor; we love being actors. I think we would be going the evening a great disservice if we didn't mention the brilliant departing cast of 30 Rock and The Office. You all have set the comedy bar so high, if we could just be half as brilliant and smart and wonderful as you are, then we've succeeded. We're all big fans of yours."
Before the awards season Sofia Vergara told people magazine
"The award is just going to the awards show. I never expected in my life that I was going to be part of a show like Modern Family and be nominated for anything. I'm very new to acting, so for me, it's a party."
Congratulations to the entire cast!
