Now It's Time To Go LIVE!

the x factor blog

Well last week the top competitors were set for the X Factor USA as judge and mentor Simon Cowell completed his part, choosing his final four acts in what has been a controversial addition to the show this year, the "Four Chair Challenge". We have seen some incredible talent this year but everything changes from this point on, now its time to go LIVE!

For these performers this is pressure like they’ve never seen before, having to deliver live in front of the judges, the audience, tens of millions of Americans and of course a global audience, including us kiwis, that cant get enough of the show. What an opportunity to launch a career but live TV can be a dangerous mistress and this week, we’ll see who rises to the challenge and who crashes and burns.

This year a top 16 will take the stage, as always under the four categories - boys, girls, over 25, and groups. We now know that the boys will be mentored by Paulina Rubio the girls by Demi, over 25s by Kelly Rowland and the groups by Mr Cowell (as always on the hunt for the next One Direction).

Of the finalists, some of the bookies favorites to walk away with that one million dollar prize include 14 year old Josh Levi, real-life lovers, Alex and Sierra, 13 year old Rion Page and the group formed by Simon like he did with 1D, that he’s calling the next “country man band.” Restless Road.

Well lets see if those bookie favorites are still on top in one weeks time. Bring it on!

No Real Surprises Here

The first act to be sent home saw the whole crowd booing and seemingly quite surprised, but at this stage of the game, seriously is anything really that much of a shocker?

They're Dropping Like Flies

There was a festive theme last week, as most Americans were celebrating Thanksgiving but there was nothing to celebrate for two acts, as there time on the show came to an end.

A Shock Double Elimination

It's been an eventful few weeks on the X Factor USA, with Simon Cowell mixing things up with a dizzying amount of changes to his beloved show and then of course the rather embarrassing voting graphics errors this time last week. Could there be anymore drama in store?

Dominic's Blog

That's Embarrasing!

For the first time in X Factor history thanks to a graphics error (sure someone got in trouble for this one), the wrong numbers were put up after each contestant, so none of the votes from America were counted and the pressure lifted as all the acts had a do-over episode, the following night.

The Competition Is About to Get Fierce

With the Boot Camp and Judge's Houses stages of the show cut in favor of the Four Chair Challenge, the contestants haven’t had a chance to hang out at and form strong friendships, so expect the competition to be even more fierce!

Dominic's Blog - Does Cece Deserve To Be There?

Does Cece deserve to be there based on her performances? I don’t think so but as Demi's last chance in the competition, she sure believes in her.

Dominic's Blog - Hanging Out With 1D!

It was Taylor Swifts turn to wow the crowds last week on the show but it was Cowell’s biggest creation, One Direction that has been the real highlight I think so far this season.
