Oscar is a Samoan born writer/actor and broadcaster who grew up in New Zealand and who has helped create critically acclaimed award-winning work for the stage, small and big screens. Oscar has had a massive year writing and staring in TV3 drama Harry, writing and directing Super City II and writing and directing his first short film, Tom’s Dairy.

Prior to that he wrote and performed in bro’Town, an animated comedy series that ran for five years and earned a massive following. His movie, Sione’s Wedding, broke domestic box office records on its release in 2006. The follow up sequel released in 2012 enjoyed similar success.

In 2009 he was made a New Zealand Arts Foundation Arts Laureate.
He was given a medal from the Queen in recognition of services to New Zealand theatre and television.
