Tell us about the show:
A very, very funny half hour of well-known Kiwis sharing barefaced lies and astonishing truths, coached and corralled by the outrageously inventive Jesse Mulligan and Jon Bridges.
Where do you stand on lying? Is it OK to tell a little white lie or the bigger the better?
If you’re a good storyteller, you’re a good liar – and I’m a very good storyteller.The world would be a much duller place without white lies and exaggeration.
Is honesty the best policy?
Honesty is essential at times, but the truth is often just so boring.Exaggeration, storytelling, fibbing – whatever you call it, life is much more interesting and entertaining with a few brilliant lies thrown into the mix.
Out of you, Jon and Jesse – who is the best liar?
It’s too early to say. Inventive lying is a brilliant skill, and I’m very good at it, but Jon and Jesse both have all the hallmarks of greatness.
Is it easier to make a lie or the truth sound more convincing on WILTY?
It takes talent to lie well, but the interesting thing is that it’s actually harder to make the truth sound implausible.Having said that, we’ve already had some very impressive liars on the show – you’ll be surprised at who comes out on top.
