“Humbug Café” is down a side road in New Lynn, in the middle
of West Auckland suburbia
but they’ve been a huge hit with customers since day one.
Owners Hayden Hyams & Anna Sotheran are experienced café
owners, having run businesses in central Auckland
in the past. But nothing has been as busy and successful as the out-of-the-way
little gem that “Humbug café” has become.
The café is a couple of hundred metres away from FruitvalePrimary School. The café
gets involved with a special event at the school- providing baking for an end
of term celebration. More than 100 parents turn up to see a special art
exhibition and cultural performances. Julie makes some dishes of her own to
give to the parents.
