Shannon Ryan’s roles at MediaWorks TV include hosting FOUR’s weekday entertainment show FOUR Live, presenting some of the networks biggest live events, including the 2011 finale of New Zealand’s Next Top Model, and showcasing her comedic talents in The Jono Project.
Praised for her sense of unique style, Shannon grew up on a farm in Glorit. She moved to Auckland to attend the NZ Radio Training School in 2007 and was soon picked up by George FM as news reader on their breakfast show.
Shannon has co-presented the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards (broadcast LIVE on FOUR) for the past two years, and joined Colin Mathura Jeffree to cover the red carpet for The Aotearoa Film and Television Awards.
Shannon kicked off her TV career with C4 in 2010, where she hosted The Official NZ Top 40 and appeared on Select Live.
In her spare time, Shannon enjoys reading, writing, surfing, music and DJing. She has worked closely with the Royal New Zealand Blind Foundation to help promote awareness of their work for New Zealanders affected by sight conditions.
