With two series under her tool belt, challenge host Shannon Ryan is looking forward to getting back into the pressure-cooker of The Block NZ weekly challenges and seeing how prepared the new teams are.
“I expect this year’s teams to have done as much preparation as possible. All you have to do is watch past seasons to see that even the most prepared get caught out with all the twists that they are presented with.”
With that in mind, Shannon’s advice for the teams is to stay positive and give it your all.
“Hold on to the excitement and optimism that you enter with, you will need it! Take risks, I know I’m not the only Kiwi that loves bright yellow walls, regardless of what the judges say.”
Praised for her sense of unique style, Shannon grew up on a farm in Glorit. She moved to Auckland to attend the NZ Radio Training School in 2007 and was soon picked up by George FM as news reader on their breakfast show.
Shannon’s roles at MediaWorks TV have include hosting FOUR’s weekday entertainment show FOUR Live, presenting some of the networks biggest LIVE events including the 2011 finale of New Zealand’s Next Top Model, showcasing her comedic talents in The Jono Project and co-presenting the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards for the past four years.
