Shannon and Simon

Brothers from Tasmania New South Wales

Shannon went overseas for 10 years and missed out on his brother growing up as a teenager. Now the brothers are fast-tracking their bonding reunion by getting to know each other as bonafide adults in The Block family.

Simon has always looked up to his older brother and seen him as the cool guy – great with girls and adventurous in travelling the world. He was always trying to beat him with a rivalry only brothers can have, pushing each other into bigger surfs and making up stupid dares.

Simon was always nagging to hang out with his older, cooler brother and his friends, and now they are sharing the ultimate experience together. They helped their parents gut their house downstairs and used knowledge of tradies in the local area to do the project management, hiring chippies, plasterers and sparkies, and taking on the plumbing, painting and coating of timber floors. But they have never taken on a complete reno before.

With a shared love of the surf and tattoos (with over 20 between them) the brothers are genuine and kind-hearted, priding themselves on their strong morals and relationship with their family, including two sisters.
Shannon knows his brother can be “a bit of a d**khead sometimes but in a good way, he’s always up for a laugh and is a great mate and good brother.”

Simon came to The Block determined to be an old-school prankster and bring the fun to the experience for everyone.Together they make decisions quickly and easily. But solo, and on the spot, the wheels fall off and they are learning to trust themselves and each other.

The boys think their greatest strength is being brothers who don’t have to worry about upsetting each other, or “all the other stuff that comes with working with your missus.
