About Kirk Torrance

Outside his role as ex-cop Wayne Judd on OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE, Kirk Torrance is probably best known to New Zealand television audiences for his role in Shortland Street. He first appeared on the show in 1997 and returned in 2005 to play the reoccurring guest role of Brosnan Paraone.

Other television credits include: The Lost Children, Understanding the Law, CoverStory, Swiss Family Robinson, Nga Wahine, Duggan, Cleopatra 2525 and Xena-Warrior Princess, and Mataku. In 2003 Kirk played a lead role in Fish Skin Suit which was named Best Drama at the New Zealand Television Awards. The following year he appeared in Holly’s Heroes and Insider’s Guide to Happiness.

Kirk’s feature film credits include the lead role of Holden in Stickmen.

In late 2005, prior to commencing filming for the second season of OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE, Kirk appeared on stage in The Holy Sinner as part of the New Zealand International Arts Festival.

In 1999 he performed in New York at the St Marks Theatre in Snooze. Other noted theatre credits include: Disgrace, Strata, Twelfth Night, The Captive, Isadora’s Tribe, Te Reo Season, The Caretaker and Swish. He also appeared in Taki Toru (2002) and Te Ao Marama (2003) at the Wellington Fringe Festival.

Kirk studied at Toi Whakaari – New Zealand Drama School.
