Julie Le Clerc as she
visits some of New Zealand’s
best cafes. She meets the owners and finds out how they got started, what their
signature dishes are and learns the secrets behind them.
Each café has a special connection with its local community- “Café Polo”
in Wellington
makes baking for S.P.C.A. charity dog walks, the owners of the “Boatshed Café”
help out with a multi-sport event that sees dozens of kayakers paddle past
their deck. Julie gets stuck in and helps out every time- whether it’s feeding
hungry workers at a community garden, or judging a cupcake competition, or
attending a special Sabbath meal with an orthodox Jewish family.
Along the way, Julie shares some of her favourite
recipes. She reveals hundreds of professional culinary tricks to make decadent
chocolate cakes, Eggs Benedict with creamy Hollandaise sauce and macadamia nut
and feijoa loaves turn out just right.
Forget flat friands and soggy carrot cakes!
Watch and learn as Julie uses 20 years plus of
kitchen knowledge to demonstrate how to create perfect café cuisine.
