1.Bagels don’t contain any preservatives and so only last a few days stored in the fridge. A good tip is to slice bagels after you have bought them and then freeze them. They don’t take long to defrost.

2.Eggs Benedict is a really popular breakfast dish. If you’re expecting to feed a large number of people, you can soft-poach the eggs ahead of time and then transfer them to a bowl of cold water. They can be kept like this for several hours. When ready to serve, simply reheat eggs in boiling hot water for 1 minute.

3.Add a tablespoon of vinegar to a pot of gently boiling water - it helps the eggs to set. Swirling the water with a spoon, helps the eggs set into a nice round shape.
