"I liked it, so I put a ring on it!"
After meeting on set three years ago, real-life Home and Away couple Luke Mitchell and Rebecca Breeds have announced their engagement.
Luke popped the question in April during a four-day break on Hayman Island, Queensland where he and Rebecca were celebrating his birthday. He had been preparing the proposal for 3 months.
"Honestly, it was one of the most difficult things I've ever done in my life. I had the element of surprise - I didn't tell anyone what I was planning, not a soul, not even my parents. But pretending there was nothing special on my mind for three months before I actually asked her to marry me - that was the best acting I've ever done!'
Mitchell confirmed the engagement yesterday via Twitter "OK so in response to Beyonce ... I liked it, so I put a ring on it!"
Rebecca said that she was so surprised that she almost forgot to say "yes" when she turned around to find Luke on bended knee with a ring. The gorgeous actress is not keen to wait long before walking down the aisle.
"I don't want a long engagement," she explains. "There's a film out at the moment, The Five Year Engagement, but I don't think that's how we're going to roll!'
