5. The day in May 1993 when New Zealand Golfers won four titles across the globe on the same day. Grant Waite won on the USPGA and Greg Turner the Italian Open. Bob Charles won the on European Seniors tour while Grant Moorhead won a big tournament in Perth. What were the odds of that happening?

Watch a tribute to New Zealand's ultimate golfer, Sir Bob Charles, by the team at The Golf Club. You can watch the Golf Club on demand here.

4. The All Blacks winning the 1987 Rugby World Cup.

Watch a highlights package of the game, compiled by the RWC.

3. In third place I put Rod Dixon's 1983 New York Marathon victory. Stunningly good and unheralded. Dixon deserved to be named the greatest all-round runner of the 20th century by the prestigious Runners World magazine. Watch the finish of the race below.

2. Walker breaking the 3 minute 50 second barrier for the mile in Sweden in 1975. The grainy black and white pictures of Walker in his black singlet with his flowing locks of hair still seem as clear as day nearly forty years later.

1. It's still John Walkers Montreal Olympics Gold Medal in 1976 that stands out as number one for me.
I was ten years of age and the impact of this was massive.
