No Real Surprises Here

Well it was a somber night last week on the X Factor USA as Simon Cowell dedicated the show to the late Nelson Mandela, who had died earlier in the day and it really set a tone for a night that would again crush another two hopefuls dreams of winning the show.

The first act to be sent home saw the whole crowd booing and seemingly quite surprised, but at this stage of the game, seriously is anything really that much of a shocker? It was Ellona Santiago who bid farewell, despite her strong performances throughout the season she failed to wow the American home viewers to stick around for another week.

Jeff Gutt, Restless Road and Alex & Sierra were sent to the safe zone leaving 13 year old Rion Paige and Carlito Olivero in the bottom 2 yet again. For me there were no real surprises here, I just cant see any scenario that doesn’t involve Alex & Sierra and Restless Road there for the Grand Finale.

Then it was time for the bottom two contenders to take one more stab at landing a place in the final four. When it came time for the judges to weigh in, Demi decided to “stick with her girl" and send Olivero packing. Paulina remained faithful to her team’s last man standing and Kelly reluctantly picked Paige to get the axe. Once again, the choice came down to the boss man, Cowell who settled on Olivero for the win, Rion was going home.

We now look ahead to the big final this week, 7 days, that is all that separates 3 acts from 1 million dollars and (for better or worse) having Simon Cowell as a manager. I’m team country man-band (Restless Road) all the way!

They're Dropping Like Flies

There was a festive theme last week, as most Americans were celebrating Thanksgiving but there was nothing to celebrate for two acts, as there time on the show came to an end.

A Shock Double Elimination

It's been an eventful few weeks on the X Factor USA, with Simon Cowell mixing things up with a dizzying amount of changes to his beloved show and then of course the rather embarrassing voting graphics errors this time last week. Could there be anymore drama in store?

That's Embarrasing!

For the first time in X Factor history thanks to a graphics error (sure someone got in trouble for this one), the wrong numbers were put up after each contestant, so none of the votes from America were counted and the pressure lifted as all the acts had a do-over episode, the following night.

With the Boot Camp and Judge's Houses stages of the show cut in favor of the Four Chair Challenge, the contestants haven’t had a chance to hang out at and form strong friendships, so expect the competition to be even more fierce!
