Ben Boyce - Writer/Presenter/Producer
Ben Boyce was a writer, presenter and producer on Pulp Sport - two time winner of Best Comedy at the New Zealand Television Awards and winner of TV Guide Best Comedy.
Pulp Sport ran for seven series and become one of TV3’s most popular and top rating shows. Pulp Sport consistently won its ratings slot across the other channels, gaining a 33.7% audience share of all 15-34 year olds and 24.7% share of 18-49 year olds.
The show has also played on Sky Sport and C4 in New Zealand and Fuel TV and Channel Ten in Australia. It has also been released onto three top selling DVD sets.
Ben also co-hosted Super 12 Rugby and Telethon for TV3, All Black Pre-Games for Sky Sport and been voted as joint winner of TV Guides “Funniest Person on TV” award in 2009.
Ben has also hosted and produced Pulp Sport the radio show for Radio Sport, co-hosted New Zealand’s top rating night radio show on The Rock FM and has written award winning commercials and parodies for multiple radio stations – including the infamous Novus Show Us Your Crack radio commercial. In 2009, his “I’m on A Goat” hip-hop parody was New Zealand’s third most watched YouTube video.
Ben is a regular magazine columnist. Emcee and radio and TV contributor, he has also fronted TV commercials for sports retailer Rebel Sport, got busted in a drink driving TV commercial and was the face of a top selling student cookbook! Currently he is also the voice of the Comedy Central TV channel and Playstation’s commercials.
In 2008 Ben ran for government in the New Zealand General Election. His political party, The Bill and Ben Party, received over 13,000 votes making it New Zealand’s 9th most popular political party (out of 19). Ben also stood in the 2009 Mt Albert Bi-Election, coming fifth overall.
Ben is orginally from the Wairarapa and spent time living in Christchurch before moving to Auckland.
