Simon Frost is, sorry WAS, Rose’s boss. He is a partner at Mosely & Loveridge. He’s an over-achiever who’s been with the firm since he graduated. Obviously a good lawyer, done the rounds on commercial and been through litigation.
He’s a looker. There’d be a bunch of girls out there who would consider him an absolute catch - smart, a strategic thinker and ruthless. He’s married though, to Felicity and they have two kids and a super nice house in Herne Bay, typical lawyer. Rumour has it the marriage is on the rocks and that he’s become disillusioned with his job (is the money not enough?!) Can’t tell if he is happy.
Apparently he was close to Rose though, maybe more so than anyone. Where they more than just colleagues? What secrets is Simon hiding?
Simon seems genuinely upset that Rose is gone. Was there more than just a good working relationship between them though and why was he looking through her things?
Something fishy is going on between him and Derek Peterson as well. The ‘incident’ they were referring to was obviously Rose’s death. Simon seems angry at Derek for talking to the press, or is it because he thinks the Derek might have had something to do with her death?
Simon mentions to Derek that the police have declared Rose’s death to be an accident. He seems upset, almost guilty about it – like he knows that isn’t what really happened. What does he know? Is he mentioning it to Peterson in the hopes of getting a rise out of him?
Simon seems like a nice guy and he seemed to really care about Rose. Maybe Peterson had him backed into a corner though. He definitely knows more than he’s telling.
Simon was having an affair with Rose and he says they had an argument the night that Rose was killed. Maybe that’s why he took the security footage from the restaurant, to make sure he didn’t appear guilty. Did he really love Rose? Where they still together when she died and what where they arguing about at the party?
Simon has a bunch of press clippings and witness statements about Roses’ death which are hidden in his safe. Is he searching for Roses’s killer or just trying to cover his tracks? Simon lied to Jane when he said that Rose left the party alone the night that she died. Did he hurt Rose or is he just making sure he doesn’t implicate himself at all? Could he have been the man in the suit that the homeless guy saw with Rose?
Rose’s call log shows a call from Simon at 9.17am the morning after her death. He left a message asking her to call him back. He wouldn’t have called her if he already knew she was dead would he?
