Commander Nathaniel Taylor Character Biography

Taylor was the first man through the portal, the first human to set foot in the Cretaceous. As Terra Nova’s unquestioned leader, he believes that the colony is humanity’s last, best hope. He’s fiercely protective of their new home and there’s no telling what lengths he’ll go to in order to defend it.

Stephen Lang Biography

Known for his indelible portraits of characters both historical and imagined, Stephen Lang has spent years building a distinguished career on the stage and in film.

Lang can be seen in Larry Brand's independent drama Christina, for which he won Best Actor at the Buffalo-Niagara Film Festival and Outstanding Achievement in Acting at the VisionFest X Festival. He was seen in 2010 starring opposite Karen Allen and Peter Riegert in John Gray's independent drama White Irish Drinkers.

In 2009, Lang starred in James Cameron's epic Avatar, the highest-grossing film of all time. For his performance, Lang won a Saturn Award and was nominated for a Music Television Movie Award and a Teen Choice Award. He also received glowing reviews for his performances in Public Enemies and The Men Who Stare At Goats opposite George Clooney.

Lang's other film roles include Gods And Generals, Last Exit to Brooklyn, Tombstone, Gettysburg, The Hard Way, Manhunter, Band Of The Hand, Trixie and Fire Down Below.

His theater credits - on and off Broadway, domestic and international - include Aaron Sorkin's A Few Good Men, John Patrick Shanley's Defiance, Steve Tesich's The Speed Of Darkness and Arthur Miller's Finishing The Picture. He has performed leading roles in classics by Moliere, Williams, O'Casey, Beckett, Shaw, Shepard, Sophocles and Shakespeare at some of the nation's finest theaters, including The Goodman, The Guthrie, The New York Shakespeare Festival, Circle in the Square, The Kennedy Center and BAM.

Lang has performed his one-man play, Beyond Glory, all over the world and received the Chairman's Medal for Distinguished Service from the National Endowment for the Arts for bringing the show to American troops stationed across the globe. Other award nominations and wins include Tony®, Helen Hayes, Joseph Jefferson, Lucille Lortel, Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk Awards.

On television, Lang gave a popularly and critically acclaimed performance in the title role of the telefilm Babe Ruth. Lang was a series regular on Michael Mann's classic Crime Story and was the elusive 'One-Armed Man' in the latest incarnation of The Fugitive.
