The best part about this is going to be seeing National and it's lack of leadership pander to the public sentiment, whatever it happens to be that day in the paper, in public, and then backtrack again and again :) Yes, I certainly agree that Labour could do with a bit of a windup, but it does appear that some think National are just above all this and have somehow never been guilty of the same. So, certain current National MPs had better remember, some of us do know what they were really like, and the promises they're making now are quite familiar to what was proposed back then, before - yes, guess what, ramming the public up the proverbial behind with everything BUT what they had promised. No suprise really, both parties are 2 sides of the same coin at the end of the day. I'm going to love seeing certain MPs the public seem to think are high and mighty with morals absolutely demolished in the house, something which the average public - unless they've been to Parliament's public galler

Is there any other job that you can openly go to sleep at, and still keep it?

This Labour Gestapo is getting carried away with its own self importance. They regularly transgress the boundaries of moral & legal behaviour then go Üp You"to the taxpayers. The media frightens them because only they can bring attention to the pitiful antics of these political losers...

I have to say thanks to TV3 for setting up how we can make comments on news items. No doubt the politicians get reports from our comments and I trust they take notice, history if they dont cause we are the voting public.I think tv3 may have had some pressure on them as you will notice t is harder to navigate around this site now, or waS. NZ is a big business,is time to run it as such before its a case last one out turn out the light

The govt deffintly works for us,and all you voters out there dont forget it.PM,cullen, portfolio ministers, opposition MPs,MMP politicians, judges, parole boards,IRD,public servants in general:dont you ever ever forget this, we as taxpayers employ you,and we as voters have the power to make or break you

The way I see it is the government works for us! We as a country pay their salaries so it should be well with in our rights as New Zealanders to have full access to what is going on in the govenment! Any other job our employers are entitled to see what we are doing in our jobs it should be no different for them!

Quote. "3 News understands the ban will be dumped and replaced with a rule meaning journalists must not knowingly misrepresent an MP." I dont understand how can a journalist misrepresent an MP when they only present themselves and should be presented in a political matter.

wow, 71% aye. Well 97% voted yes to harsher penalties for violent criminals & look what happened there. Bye, Bye Aunty Helen because unlike past elections I'll never vote for labour again.

I have no objection to a bit of fun in parliament, this is a 'safety valve'. But we pay their salaries and they are paid to run our country in a business like manner. If parliament is going to be televised then we see it all, or none.If this means they have to behave like responsible adults instead of like idiots then good, televise it all. Hope the media keep to their original plan to ignore this ban.
