It seems like the man with the neck tattoo is rather well connected. He shows up at Derek Peterson’s charity event and seems to know everyone – Peterson, Helen and Grant. His name is Karl Villiers and by all accounts he's not someone to get messed up with. He knows Helen from her days working as a criminal attorney. Could she have hired him to off Rose?
Karl doesn’t react well to accusations that he may have had something to do with Rose’s death. In fact, he gets seriously threatening in order to try and find out who spotted him at the Waterfront that night. He wouldn’t react that way unless he had something to hide. Only guilty people have something to be afraid of. He must have had something to do with it and now he’s trying to scare Grant into keeping quiet.
Police files show that Felicity has a conviction for drunk driving - she was pulled over the night of Rose’s death, very near her house. She may have wanted to hurt Rose but she couldn't have killed her. Felicity was taken into custody by the police and wasn't released until 6am the following morning. Simon, on the other hand…. he had a few hours to kill by himself while his wife was in a cell.
At the BBQ Peterson and Charlie are huddled together having a hushed conversation away from the group. Charlie says that Peterson has been helping with his father’s appeal – fronting a bit of cash for the case. Is this is full story? Doesn’t seem like Peterson is in a habit of doing favors for people out of the goodness of his heart.
