The Intruder - 18/02

At M&L Simon is pushing Jane to apply for the PA job and takes her out to lunch to talk about the position. Turns out that the place Simon takes Jane to lunch – "the usual" – is where the client function was held. Jane and Simon have barely started talking when his wife Felicity shows up – she’s none too happy that he is out wining and dining another pretty PA. She makes snide remarks about Simon’s previous "long lunches" and night’s that he has been "working late."

Did Simon used to take long lunches with Rose? The rumors must be true – they were having an affair! Felicity certainly seems to think so! Maybe she was angry enough to try and get Rose out of the way permanently. Simon tells Jane that he and Rose were very close and had worked together for 5 years. He seems to genuinely care about her. He says that the last time he saw Rose they had an argument though – something personal? Was it a lovers spat?

It was Krystle that called Felicity to sabotage Jane and Simon’s lunch. She’s seriously pissed off that that Jane has decided to apply for the job. Simon says he doesn’t trust Krystle at all though – M&L is very political and that there are a lot of factions within the company. What does he mean by that? What kind of enemies could Simon have inside of the company? What secrets is he trying to keep?

While they are out to lunch Jane notices that there are security cameras in the restaurant. She goes back later to ask for the footage but apparently the cops already have it…..and so does Simon! Why did he ask for the footage and what on earth is he doing watching it late at night alone in his office. Odd. Does he just miss Rose? Is he concerned that the fight makes him look guilty or is he also searching for her killer?

Sonya is so broke that she’s needs to sell her house! She is trying desperately to find a job but it seems that the sleezy HR manager at M&L is determined to make that difficult. Why would Barry be badmouthing her? Does he know that she was stealing for the company? When Sonya storms into the office to confront Barry, Helen interjects. Sonya tells them all that she knows everything and she won’t keep quiet anymore. Some seriously weird dynamics are going on there. Barry seems angry that no one is backing him – like maybe he was just doing what he was told? Helen promises to look into the situation but she seems almost threatening about it. Did she know about Davy Hulme and the stolen money?

Somebody breaks into Sonya’s house and attacks her – she says the man was trying to take stuff. Was this a warning not to talk about what she knows? Is that what Helen meant when she said she would look into it? Someone at M&L knows what Sonya was doing and is trying to keep her quiet. Sonya decides that it’s time to start looking after number one - she changes her name to Elizabeth Clide and takes almost a million dollars from the M&L accounts to bankroll her new life. Was this her plan all along? This suddenly went from a bit of a Robin Hood story to outright theft!
