
Toby Sharpe, originally from Wellington, studied
Architecture after leaving school. He has always had a passion for art and over
the last 7 years has been selling pieces to make ends meet as an actor.Currently he
and his wife own and operate an Auckland photography business ‘Kelly Newland
Photography’.
He has been a jack of all trades working as a
Train Driver at Wellington Zoo, a Ski instructor for 3 seasons in Canada
(absolutely brilliant) and 1 in Scotland (bloody awful) and he made and sold
bone carvings in Denmark for a summer.
He travelled for most of the 90’s through North
& South America, Asia, Europe and finished off by driving through Africa
for a year and a half with a Landrover bought in Glasgow.
Some highlights have been climbing to Everest Base camp in Nepal. Summiting Mt
Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and walking the Inca trail to Machu Pichu in Peru.
For the last 10 years Toby has been acting and
has made appearances in New Zealand shows such as A Night at the Classic, Jono’s
New Show and Shortland Street.
His ventures into film work include performances in Yogi Bear, Losing Anna
and The Richmond Family Massacre.
